Teaching Students with Disabilities: Finding Articles

Click text-to-speech menu button to access the tool's other options, which include:
1) settings button: Click the Settings button to open a window that allows you to adjust highlighting settings, word color, scrolling.
2) language button: Click the Reading Language button to select an accent or voice in which you would like the text read to you and then click the Listen button.
3) text hover button: Click the Read on Hover button to turn this feature on or off. When enabled, this feature starts reading a paragraph when you hover your pointer over it.
4) text enlarge button: Click the Enlarge Text button to display the sentence being read at the bottom of the screen in a larger font size and simultaneous text highlighting.
5) text mode button: Click the Text Mode button to open a pop-up window on the screen displaying the current page in a text-only version. The controls at the top of the text window allow you to play, pause, or stop the audio, alter the text formatting, adjust the reading speed and maximize the window size.
6) page mask button: Click the Page Mask button to dim the screen except a highlighted area that follows where you hover the pointer with your mouse or touch the screen on mobile devices.
7) download button: Click the Download button to download an mp3 file with an audio version of the article or your selected text from the article you are viewing.
8) help button: Click the Help button to access the onboard help information about using the text-to-speech tool.

Several tools are available to help you better interact with the text:
1) The Translate tool lets you translate the document into 40 different languages
2) The Font Size tool allows you to increase or decrease the document's font size. The change will persist throughout your session.
3) The Listen tool provides text-to-speech audio. The text will be highlighted as the content is read aloud.
4) You can also download an MP3 for future listening.
